Insta-worthy Coffee Shops in Vancouver

Finding unique, insta-worthy spots while exploring a new city makes your travels all the more memorable–and if they happen to serve coffee & tea, it's even sweeter! On my last visit to Vancouver I was able to pop-in at cute coffee shops across the city, from Downtown to Granville to Gastown. Here are a few of my favorites stops:

Elysian Coffee Roasters

With four locations in Vancouver, Elysian Coffee Roasters has built a name for themselves in producing high-quality roasts and aesthetic seating unique to each location. As I am more of a tea drinker than a coffee snob, I enjoyed their home-brewed chai latte; which was rich, flavourful & made without syrup (as it should be) 10/10! Their Mount Pleasant location has lots of indoor and outdoor seating, big windows and is in a charming neighborhood to tour. The atmosphere was friendly, filled with plants & trendy knick-knacks and very photogenic!

Another option in the neighborhood is Black Coffee House & Lounge which features coffee (of course) and cocktails towards the evening.

Mon Pitou

Full disclosure–this is my favorite coffee shop of the trip!

From the moment you see Mon Pitou you know it is going to be absolutely adorable! With simple outdoor seating and thematic blue coloring, this bistro & bakery knows how to set the stage. French music plays in the background as you step onto the classic subway tile floors and see flowers, fresh fruits & jams, and all the baked goods you could imagine. A true gem.

I ordered a hot chocolate and two pastries (a slice of the lemon tart and an apple galette) all of which were *chef's kiss* perfection. The apple galette was genuinely one of the best pastries I've ever had!

Shaughnessy Restaurant

This was an accidental find as we were at the VanDusen Botanical Garden, and Shaughnessy Restaurant is on the edge of the garden. The botanical garden creates the perfect backdrop for your mid-day beverage. With windows at every turn and beautiful outdoor patios, the enchanting views create an ambiance worth staying for.

I was not planning on including Shaughnessy's in this post, but after trying their London Fog, it needed to be on the list. Hands-down this was the best London Fog I've had, and I've had a London Fog at almost every cafe I've been to. The tea had the perfect amount of foam/spice/creamy consistency, just an absolute dream.

Breka Bakery & Cafe

Six locations across Vancouver tells you Breka Bakery & Cafe is doing something right! While I didn't have time to grab one of their pastries- I ordered the lavender tea latte which was a sweet sip of spring. This coffee shop is the most 'chain coffee shop' of the list, but offers fresh breads, pastries and a variety of coffees and teas.

If you're looking for a spot to order to-go Breka has all the traditional coffee shop options and then some! Next time I will definitely pair my latte with a dessert...
